Install and first invoice
1. Install
Section titled “1. Install”Install PrintFlow: PDF Invoices from the Shopify App Store (in your admin it appears as PrintFlow) and approve the read-only permissions. You start on the Free plan; no card is needed.
2. Complete the setup checklist
Section titled “2. Complete the setup checklist”The Dashboard shows a short checklist:
- Company details: legal name and address, printed as the seller. Leave the address empty to use your Shopify store address.
- VAT / tax ID: required for invoices to EU and UK customers. Invoices without it are blocked there, to keep you compliant.
- Invoice template: a clean default template is ready. You can change it later.
- Numbering: confirm the format and the next number.
- First invoice: issue one from an order.
All of these are in Settings.
3. Issue an invoice
Section titled “3. Issue an invoice”- From the app: open Orders, find the order and choose Print or Download.
- From the Shopify order page: open the order, choose PrintFlow documents in the Print menu (or Download PDF by PrintFlow under More actions), pick the document type and generate it.
If a document is blocked
Section titled “If a document is blocked”The app refuses to issue a document rather than print a wrong one:
| Message | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Totals don’t match Shopify | The app’s recalculation differs from Shopify’s totals | Contact support with the order number; no number was used |
| Compliance check failed | A required field is missing for the selling country (for example a VAT ID) | Fix the field shown in Settings, then try again |
| Monthly document limit reached | You have used your plan’s documents for this cycle | See Plans and billing |
